We believe God wrote the Bible through human agency without any error. Both Old and New Testaments represent all of the written word of God and contain no errors in their original manuscripts. The Bible was written by men, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is completely authoritative in all matters concerning faith and practice.

We believe God is the triune God of the Bible. God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in his being, holiness, love, grace, mercy, justice, goodness, power, wisdom, and truth. He desires we intimately know Him and devote our lives to living for His glory.

We believe that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. The eternal Lord Jesus became a man, lived a perfect sinless life, was crucified and died on a cross, buried in a grave, and was resurrected in order to redeem all those who believe. Jesus is fully God and fully man, begotten of the Father, not created, who dwelt among us living a complete life without sin. His perfect life and death on the cross is the only atonement that satisfied the righteous requirements of God. The death of Jesus completely achieves all the benefits of salvation for sinners who place their faith in Him. This sacrificial act is understood as redemptive and substitutionary. The resurrection of Jesus stands as historic fact validating all that He said and did, thus acting as the only and ultimate hope of fallen humanity. Jesus Christ will make a personal and physical return to the earth; this return is the vital component of hope in the daily life of the Christian.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, thus He is worshipped with the Father and Son as God. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and brings repentance and faith to the believer. He consistently dwells within every believer to produce godliness and Christian character; He provides gifts to every believer for the good of the body of Christ. He is the comforter promised by the Christ to the disciples and believers of the universal church.

We believe that all human beings are created in the image of God and made to worship Him and glorify him. However, because of the fall all humanity is sinful and in complete need of salvation by grace alone. Apart from the saving grace of God through Christ, all humans face the holy wrath and judgment of God. For fallen humanity has exchanged the worship of the one true God for other things. The Bible refers to this as idolatry—the heart of all sin.

We believe that salvation is the gift of God provided solely by His grace and not by works; received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Though all men are created in the image of God, the fall has corrupted that relationship. Thus, only through repentance and faith in Christ can that relationship be reconciled in peace. Christ’s life, death, and resurrection provide the basis for this restored relationship. Those who do turn to Christ for salvation are declared in Scripture as regenerated, justified, redeemed and brought into the family of God.

We believe that the church is made up of all believers from every tribe, tongue and nation everywhere for all time. The group functions as one body of Christ making disciples and carrying out the mission of God until His kingdom comes. This collected body is referred to as the Universal Church. We also believe in the local church which gathers weekly for worship and the sacraments of baptism and communion. These ordinances are the only ones to be observed by the local church, however, these ordinances are not a means of salvation. As a local church, Legacy City fully embraces all the commands of the New Testament for the church. Members of the Universal church are eligible for membership in the local church. Legacy City Church is committed to the glory of God through the proclamation of the gospel and serving our city for the good of people.

We believe in the physical return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth in order to judge all people and establish His kingdom forever. All people will be resurrected to give an account of their lives before God. Those who have placed their faith in Christ will be welcomed into eternal life with God. Those who have rejected Christ and do not have their sins forgiven will be punished eternally in a conscious state of hell. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is returning soon. Come quickly Lord Jesus!
